Study Visit in Larnaka | 8-10 May 2026

Three Countries. One Shared Commitment to Accessibility

From 8 to 10 May, Deaf communities from Poland, Greece, and Cyprus came together in a shared exchange focused on cultural accessibility, inclusion, and community connection. Through dialogue, creative collaboration, and shared experiences, participants explored how cultural spaces and events can become more open and accessible to the Deaf community.

The gathering created opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect through lived experiences, storytelling, and co-creation. These moments encouraged new perspectives on accessibility and highlighted the importance of participation in cultural life for all communities.

In addition, the participants had the opportunity to engage with the project’s educational material, namely the Manual for organizers of international cultural events.

As part of the programme, participants explored the city of Larnaka through a guided tour, took part in a collaborative art workshop led by EVOHK artist-run space, and visited the Craft of Caning Museum in Livadia. Each activity opened space for reflection on the role of accessibility within museums, public spaces, and cultural initiatives.

Beyond the activities themselves, the exchange reinforced the value of creating common ground — spaces where creativity, accessibility, and community can come together to shape a more inclusive cultural future.
